Off-season Cycling for Youth rounds out the active bicycling season. This program shows how to keep active all year round, as well as introduces:

  • Mountain Biking Skills

  • Bicycle Art

  • Bicycle Mechanics

  • Trail Stewardship

  • Winter Sports

  • Destination Rides

Ages: 11-14

Ages: 11-14

Minimum number of attendees is two

  • Three-month program

    • Start mid-November

    • Finish mid-January

    • Breaks for Thanksgiving and Christmas/New Years weeks

    • Sessions are twice weekly on Monday and Thursday afternoons, with option for Saturdays

    • Approximately 14 sessions

  • Activities include:

    • Flexibility and slow-speed MTB skills

    • Ridgeline ride

    • Upcycle bicycle art

    • Bicycle mechanics

    • Bicycling on Eugene/Springfield bike paths

    • Whypass trail rides

    • Ramps and landers

    • Skiing

    • Big Creek (Newport OR) trail ride

    • Fitness workouts

  • Additional notes:

    • Program is not associated with the Oregon Interscholastic Cycling League nor NICA

    • Program is mindful of the importance of off-season rest - both physically and mentally

    • Students pay their own fees at Willamette Pass and StarCycle
